Chinese New Year 2023 is a Year of the Rabbit

The sign of the Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.
Our Mandarin Department and the pupils have organised the Chinese New Year Assembly last week. Our pupils shared the story of the origins of the Chinese New Year, the legend of Nian.

Also, through this story pupils have shared the costumes and traditions of Chinese New Year's celebration. Why Chinese people like the color red, why they set off fireworks and how they celebrate the New Year.
