After their first Sports Day was cancelled due to thunder, the Reception Sports Day was rescheduled for Tuesday 21 May. On one of the hottest mornings of the year, the children were in high spirits and moved around a multi-skill circuit which focused on their fundamental skills of throwing, jumping and running.
The children were also developing their agility, balance, speed and co-ordination across all stations where they would score points for their house every time they completed the activity. The obstacle course and the rocket launch were firm favourites and the atmosphere generated by the children as they worked in their house groups was very pleasing to see.
It was good to see the children supported by their parents who could observe the progress that they have been making in the recent athletics unit. At the end of a very tiring 90 minutes of activity, Mr Dook announced the results which were as follows:
1ST Kipling
2nd Edmonstone
3rd Bartle Frere
4th Attlee
