More than a seasonal tradition
At Haileybury Almaty, giving back is not a one-off initiative or something we do simply at festive moments. It is part of our everyday culture and an important aspect of how we educate our students- through empathy, action, and community.
For the past ten years, our annual New Year campaign has brought families, students, and staff together to support those in need. This year, our community helped provide 62 gifts for elderly residents and 45 gifts for children from a local orphanage, offering not just presents but care, dignity and connection.
A Community Effort
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown across our community. Our sincere thanks go to the Haileybury Parents Association, whose organisation of the Winter Festival in December played a central role in fundraising, as well as to the many families and individuals who contributed directly.
Through this shared effort, we raised over 2 million tenge in support of the Solnyshko House- a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a school community comes together with purpose.
Supporting Others All Year Round
While the New Year provides a natural focus for supporting the Solnyshko Orphanage, our commitment to helping others continues throughout the year. Haileybury Almaty regularly supports a range of local charities and community initiatives, particularly through our House system.
We believe that kindness and responsibility are best developed through consistency and sustained involvement, not just at particular times of year.
Looking Ahead
Every act of giving, big or small, matters. Together, we are nurturing a culture of compassion and responsibility- one that helps our students grow not only academically, but as thoughtful, engaged members of their wider community.
Thank you for being part of this shared commitment.
