Haileybury Almaty celebrated Kazakhstan’s Republic Day with assemblies, musical performances and Kazakh quizzes across Junior and Senior School, alongside activities during Kazakh and Kazakh history lessons.
Edmonstone had particular reason to celebrate, with its teams winning the Kazakh quizzes in both Junior and Senior School. Congratulations to both teams on their success.
In Junior School, pupils in Years 1–6 gathered for an assembly in the Main Atrium. Musical performances formed part of the celebrations, while the quizzes brought a competitive element to the programme.
The day continued with activities for Years 3–6 in the Main Atrium during their Kazakh lessons. Years 1 and 2 watched a Kazakh theatre performance in the Drama Studio, adding another opportunity to experience the language through the arts.
Senior School also held its assembly in the Main Atrium. Activities in the Auditorium accompanied Kazakh and Kazakh history lessons, with additional sessions available for pupils who did not have Kazakh lessons that day.
The programme gave pupils different ways to take part in Republic Day, through music, theatre, quizzes and activities linked to their lessons. Thank you to the pupils and staff who contributed to the celebrations, and well done to Edmonstone’s winning teams.
