Favourite characters, shared stories and new reading discoveries were at the heart of Haileybury Almaty’s World Book Day celebrations.
Pupils arrived dressed as characters from their favourite books, bringing the stories they enjoy into school. Parents joined their children for a morning of reading together, making time to share a book as part of the celebrations.
The Haileybury Parents’ Association Book Swap offered another way to discover something new to read. By exchanging books, pupils could share stories with others and find their next reading adventure.
For Years 1 and 2, a Book Tasting activity introduced a different approach to choosing books. Pupils sampled a selection of titles, exploring stories and finding books that caught their interest.
The Junior School Assembly ended with a red-carpet moment, where pupils posed for photographs in their costumes.
Across the activities, the focus remained on the enjoyment of books: choosing a story, sharing it with someone else and discovering what to read next.
Thank you to the Haileybury Parents’ Association and the families who joined us in celebrating reading.
