Minister of Education Meets International Olympiad Winners

On November 8, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gani Beisembayev held a meeting with gifted schoolchildren and students in Almaty.

The following Haileybury Almaty students were among the best of the best invited to the meeting:

🏅 Nazar — silver medal at the prestigious International Olympiad in Informatics in Alexandria (IOI),

🏅 Miron —  silver medal at the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad in the UK (IMO),

🏅 Amirlan — silver medal at the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad in the UK (IMO),

🏅 Aray — bronze at the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO),

🏅 Alikhan — silver medal at the 58th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad in Shenzhen (PRC).

The event brought together more than 100 winners of international and national Olympiads, activists of youth organizations and leaders of Pupils’ Councils. Important issues of education, science and upbringing were discussed in the format of an open dialogue.

The Minister stressed the importance of this meeting:

"You have proven that Kazakhstani education is competitive in the international arena. Your successes are inspiring; they are the testament of the high level of learning. We will keep ensuring favourable conditions for your further growth”.

During the visit, Gani Beisembayev also noted the importance of pastoral work and interaction between parents and schools. The "Birtutas tarbie" program, within the framework of which more than 25 thousand sessions for parents have already been held, helps to strengthen this connection.

Haileybury Almaty students have once again shown that they are not only the pride of our school, but also leaders who contribute to the future of Kazakhstan. We wish them further success and new achievements!
