From 22 June to 17 July, Haileybury Astana welcomed pupils for four weeks of exploration, creativity and hands-on learning at our SciTech Summer Camp.
Designed to encourage curiosity beyond the classroom, the programme brought together science, technology, creativity, sport and the arts, giving pupils opportunities to investigate new ideas, develop practical skills and, above all, enjoy learning together.
Throughout the camp, pupils took part in a wide range of interactive science sessions. Working with experts from Oilanu, they explored topics including photosynthesis, human digestion, archaeology and reflexes, turning scientific concepts into practical experiences and encouraging them to ask questions, experiment and discover for themselves.
The journey of discovery extended beyond our planet. During astronomy sessions with Astro Astana, pupils explored the Solar System, learnt about planets and constellations, discovered how telescopes work and experienced the scale and wonder of the universe through engaging, hands-on activities.
Science was only one part of a varied four-week programme. Music, dance, sport and art were combined with STEM workshops, museum visits, games and special activities, creating opportunities for pupils to discover new interests, express their creativity and build friendships along the way.
At the heart of SciTech Summer Camp was a simple idea: some of the most memorable learning happens when children are encouraged to explore, create and experience things for themselves.
We were delighted to see the enthusiasm and curiosity our campers brought to each new challenge. Our thanks go to all the pupils, families, teachers and partners who contributed to four memorable weeks at Haileybury Astana.
We hope our campers leave not only with happy summer memories, but with new questions to ask, new interests to pursue and an even greater curiosity about the world around them.
