Haileybury Astana and Almaty Students Embark on Inspiring Boston University Tour

A group of twenty-four enthusiastic students accompanied by their teachers from Haileybury Almaty and Astana embarked on a transformative twelve-day trip to Boston, to visit renowned universities in the area. Despite the long travel time, the students' excitement and anticipation never waned.

The trip brought an exciting visit to Harvard University, where the students were guided by an enthusiastic Harvard Master's degree student. They toured Harvard Yard, learned about the university's history, saw notable landmarks such as the John Harvard statue, and discovered the significance of various buildings on campus. The students were inspired by stories of successful applicants who displayed academic excellence and demonstrated leadership skills in their communities.

The itinerary continued with visits to MIT, Brown University, Yale University, Northeastern University, and Tufts University. At each institution, the students received personalized tours, insightful presentations, and invaluable advice from current students and alumni. They learned about the unique features and strengths of each university, gaining insights into the application process and the qualities universities seek in prospective students.

The students also enjoyed various attractions and activities in Boston, such as whale watching, exploring historic sites along the Freedom Trail, indulging in Boston's famous Italian cuisine, and visiting the Boston Science Museum. These experiences broadened their horizons and deepened their understanding of American culture and history.

As their journey ended, the students visited Boston University, where they met with the head of admissions and received valuable guidance on the application process. Additionally, they had the privilege of attending a lecture by Dr Wasif, a Harvard graduate and expert in college preparation programs. Dr Wasif shared insights and emphasized the importance of strategic thinking, long-term planning, and impactful achievements in building a strong application.

With their minds filled with inspiration, the students concluded their trip by packing their bags, ready to embark on their long flight back home. The journey to Boston had not only exposed them to prestigious universities. Still, it also ignited their determination to strive for academic excellence and pursue their dreams of attending top-tier institutions.

The memories created during this educational adventure will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on these young minds, fueling their aspirations and setting them on a path toward a bright future.
