We are proud to announce a stellar achievement by our Reception teacher, Katrine Altiok, who recently brought home a gold medal from the Swan Challenge 2024 in Bled, Slovenia.

Representing Kazakhstan on an international stage, Katrine displayed her dedication and exceptional talent in this prestigious adult figure skating competition, held from 18 to 20 October 2024.

The Swan Challenge has grown into a highly regarded event that gathers adult figure skaters from across the globe, offering them a platform to celebrate their passion for the sport. The competition attracts both amateur and seasoned skaters who compete across various age categories, and it is renowned for its high standards and spirited camaraderie. This year’s competition featured participants from numerous countries, each displaying a unique blend of skill, artistry, and sportsmanship.

Katrine’s gold medal win is a remarkable testament to her commitment and hard work. Competing against talented skaters from around the world, she impressed both the judges and audience with her skill, grace, and dedication, ultimately claiming the top spot. Her success reflects years of practice and unwavering perseverance, qualities that she not only embodies on the ice but also brings to her role as an educator each day.

Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Katrine’s achievements serve as a source of inspiration for the entire Haileybury Astana community. Her dedication to skating parallels her commitment to nurturing young minds in the classroom. Through her passion for both teaching and skating, she acts as a role model to our students, showing them that with determination and hard work, extraordinary achievements are within reach.
