Haileybury Games

Over the weekend, we held the first U19 Haileybury Games between Astana and Almaty schools. A selected 12 boys and 12 girls took part in the Volleyball, Basketball and Football against our sister school over the two days and had social and fun games filled evening entertainment as well.

Both sides showed an outstanding performance and held the tension in all games. Haileybury Astana girls’ team won in all categories, while our boys' team faced a strong opponent and secured a narrow win in football in the last few minutes. Overall, the Haileybury Astana team won four of their final six matches, winning 4 - 2 in the tournament.

We were happy to host the first Haileybury Games and hope this continues annually and expands into other year groups too. We have similar events coming up for Junior School pupils in a few weeks and will see if we can match this achievement.
