Student-Led Innovation: Year 13 Organises Spectacular Engineering Hackathon at Haileybury Astana

On November 4th and 5th, our school hosted the first National IOE Engineering Hackathon. The two-day competition brought together over 80 students from schools such as the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana, the National School of Physics & Math (FIZMAT) Almaty, and the Canadian International School in Astana.

Their challenge was to propose solutions for a given case and develop an implementation plan. Unlike most similar competitions, which are mostly exclusive to university students, this event aimed to provide valuable experience in engineering to younger participants.

Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards for Haileybury Astana Students
The awards are presented to the students who achieve the best scores in their subjects in each series of IGCSE examinations. Amir, Alina and Zere received the highest marks in individual subjects in Kazakhstan - in particular Biology, Russian Language and Physics.
