Art Department Residential Trip to PARIS 2023

We would like to tell you about the wonderful journey that our students embarked on during the autumn break – a trip to Paris and the places they visited.

At the beginning of the new academic year, our students from Haileybury Almaty embarked on an exciting adventure to the city of art and romance - Paris, France. They spent over 8 days immersing themselves in the rich cultural and artistic environment of Paris, creating unforgettable memories. From the Louvre to Montmartre, these talented pupils explored the world of masterpieces while enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of the city.

Saturday, October 21, 2023 - Journey to Paris

The journey began with a gathering at Almaty Airport, where the students met as a group. After checking in for Lufthansa flight LH647 to Frankfurt and then onward to Paris on flight LH1034, they arrived in the capital of France.

Sunday, October 22 - Palace of Versailles

On the following day, the group headed to the Palace of Versailles, one of the greatest architectural wonders in the world. The students spent time exploring the palace, proudly situated in the suburbs of Paris, and its beautiful gardens.

Monday, October 23, 2023 - Graffiti Workshop and Galeries Lafayette Shopping

The next day was an artistic day. Students joined a graffiti workshop where they had the opportunity to try their hand at Parisian street art. After the workshop, they enjoyed a visit to Galeries Lafayette for designer shopping, experiencing the world of high-end fashion.

Tuesday, October 24, 2023 - Musee d'Orsay and Montparnasse Tower

On Tuesday, students had the chance to explore the magnificent Musee d'Orsay, which houses a remarkable collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces. Afterwards, they visited Montparnasse Tower, where they enjoyed breathtaking views of Paris.

Wednesday, October 25, 2023 - Monet's Gardens and Champs-Élysées

The group then visited Claude Monet's Gardens in Giverny. This place was a source of inspiration for one of the greatest artists of all time. In the afternoon, students enjoyed a trip to the famous Champs-Élysées, experiencing the elegance and luxury of this iconic avenue.

Thursday, October 26, 2023 - Louvre and "Les Folies Gruss" Show

This day included a visit to the Louvre, one of the world's largest museums, housing priceless works of art. In the evening, students attended the incredible "Les Folies Gruss" show, where they enjoyed amazing performances.

Friday, October 27, 2023 - Pompidou Center and Picasso Museum

The final day in Paris began with a visit to the Pompidou Center, a hub for contemporary art where students could explore a collection of 20th and 21st-century art. They then headed to the Picasso Museum for a guided tour of selected works of art.

Saturday, October 28, 2023 - Return Home

On the last day, students bid farewell to Paris and returned to Almaty, filled with impressions and inspiration from this unforgettable journey.

In this exciting artistic journey, our students had the opportunity to explore world culture and art, feel the spirit of Paris, and develop their artistic skills. We thank all the participants and organizers of this trip for this memorable experience.
