Haileybury Almaty English Olympiad

The school held the final round of the English Olympiad for Almaty schoolchildren on Tuesday. More than 550 pupils from 100 schools of Almaty city and Almaty region took part in the first online tour. 63 participants from 27 Almaty schools made it to the final.

In the two final rounds, the participants had the opportunity to show their knowledge in English by writing essays and then taking part in interactive communication with the Haileybury Almaty pupils. Having divided into teams, the participants of the Olympiad actively discussed problems, searched for the solutions, expressed and defended their points of view.

The results of the Olympiad were summed up, and the award ceremony was held at the end of the day.

Here are the winners of the Olympiad:


1st place – Inissar Dossanova (Gymnasium#105)

2nd place – Daniya Zhumabayeva (NISPhMD), Darya Podymnikova (Gymnasium#105)

3rd place - Dilnaz Kineshova (Gymnasium#105), Ilya Nebolsin (Gymnasium#27), Nigina Aslamova (Gymnasium#68)



1st place – Alina Kim (ISL ‘Dostar’)

2nd place – Arina Sharonova (School at KAU), Yeldos Makhanbetov (School at KAU)

3rd place - Aruzhan Yelzhassova (BIL), Mariya Issayeva (Gymnasium#111), Yevgeniya Dresher  (Gymnasium#15)



1st place – Katarina Ron (School #10)

2nd place – Kamila Badelbayeva (Gymnasium#105),  Alima Medetova (NISPhMD)
