Dear Year 12 Parents,
EPQ Presentation evening - Invite!
- If your child recently completed their EPQ artefact or dissertation, we congratulate them and you for getting through over six months of hard work. This is quite an achievement!
- The presentation evening, where they present and defend their findings, is on Wednesday, the 22nd of April, from 16.30 in the Science Labs. You are invited to celebrate this final milestone with them.
PPPs - checking you have them
- On Tuesday, 14th (09.00) we will be hosting our final Sixth Form Parent Partnership Programme (PPP) Workshop, where we will be talking about extracurricular activities and demonstrating a ‘Spike’. This is largely directed at parents of students in lower years, but you are still welcome to attend.
- We have sent PPPs after each session via Ms Shynar, but we gather these have not always hit your inboxes. If you would like a specific resource, please email her directly.
Fantastic University success for the class of 2026!
- We are nearing the end of the university application cycle, and once again, Haileybury students have gained fantastic admissions success.
- We have received offers from 8 of the top 10 globally ranked universities according to the QS World University Rankings.
- This includes MIT, Imperial (x5), Stanford, Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge (x2), UCL (Currently x9) and Caltech.
- We have also received offers from specialist universities. For example, in Art we have numerous offers from UAL (recognised as 2nd globally for Art and Design in the 2025 and 2026 QS World University Rankings for eight straight years), as well as Kingston, Falmouth, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
Shortlisting university choices
- Students continue to shortlist universities through Unifrog and our advice sessions. In April, we are also welcoming representatives from St Andrews, Exeter, Princeton, Coventry Astana, Invision and Narxoz.
- On the 25th of April, World EduFest, a university fair at Villa, will be taking place. This seems to feature a good number of Russell Group Universities from the UK and other reputable global universities.
- Please note this is a non-Haileybury event and this is not specifically endorsed by us. Details can be found at https://worldedufest.com/
Reminder of key dates
- Study leave for Year 12 will be Monday 27th April - Wednesday 20th May
- After the 20th of May, students will return to regular lessons and start Year 13 work. It is key that they attend these lessons
- We wish your children well for these key summer exams! Results will be announced in August.
Thanks, and we will write again next month!
Your sincerely,
The Sixth Form Team - Henry Wilkinson, Ana Munoz and Steve Stockermans
