Haileybury Astana ASTMUN Conference 2021

Haileybury Astana ASTMUN Conference 2021

MUN (Model United Nations) is a fantastic opportunity for young people to engage with global issues in a meaningful and creative way. Over a three-day event, these young delegates take on the role of UN ambassadors for different countries developing their communication skills, negotiation skills, political awareness, and global understanding.

We have 15 pupils from Haileybury taking part in the online event hosted by QSI (ASTMUN) this year from KS3, 4 and 5: it really is an opportunity for all pupils to be involved. This year they are discussing a range of topics such as freedom of the press and journalist safety, the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and ethnic cleansing - our pupils are faced with the most current and challenging of issues.

We wish them the best of luck as they work together to find solutions to these difficult problems!

Many thanks to Rachel Breckon, our MUN Director.
