Our Year 10 pupils just returned from an unforgettable educational journey across Boston, USA - exploring the heart of American academia, culture, and innovation!
From walking the halls of Harvard, Yale, MIT, and more… to hands-on science workshops, whale watching on the Atlantic, and a mind-blowing performance by the Blue Man Group, this trip was packed with inspiration and adventure at every turn.
📍 Highlights included:
• Innovation workshop at MIT (yes, we built our own telegraphs!)
• Campus tours & Q&As with admissions officers at Harvard, Yale, Tufts, Brown & Northeastern
• A rocket documentary on a 5-storey dome screen 🎥
• Whale sightings and seal-spotting out at sea 🐋
• Duck Boat rides through Boston’s streets and river 🚤
• Exploring Salem on Juneteenth and reliving spooky legends 🧙♀️
• Shopping, Target runs, and yes—make-your-own ice cream at a U.S. college dining hall 🍦
Beyond the sights and campuses, it was the sense of wonder, independence, and connection that truly defined this experience.
Huge thanks to our incredible trip leaders:
Mr Steven O’Rourke & Ms Sophie Lightowlers (Haileybury Almaty)
Ms Elena Yun & Mr Anuar Sharipov (Haileybury Astana)
And heartfelt appreciation to the organisers behind the scenes: Mr Steve Stockermans & Ms Ana Isabel Muñoz Lopera
Boston Bound 2025 was more than a school trip—it was a celebration of global learning, student ambition, and the special partnership between our two schools. The friendships formed and the lessons learned will continue to inspire our pupils for years to come.
We are immensely proud of everyone who took part—and excited for all that lies ahead.
