News from International Maths Olympiad

The 4th International Olympiad of Metropolises was held in the Russian capital on September 1-6, at the initiative of the Mayor of Moscow.

 

Its participants are 14-18 year old pupils from 45 major cities and capitals of the world. Pupils from Abu Dhabi, Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Boston, New York, Berlin, Baku, Banja Luka, Belgrade, Bishkek, Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Gaborone, Hanover, Hong Kong, Delhi, Jakarta, Dusseldorf, Zagreb, Jerusalem, Krakow, Leipzig, Lima, Luoyang, Milan, Minsk, Moscow, Beijing, Riga, Rome, St. Petersburg, Sofia, Istanbul, Tallinn, Tel Aviv, Helsinki, Chengdu and Shanghai competed in mathematics, computer science, chemistry and physics.

All in all there are 30 countries participating in the Olympiad. A team of eight participants and three leaders represent each city.

 

Closing and awarding ceremony took place on September 6. Oyur pupil, Nurtas Sh, mathematics, represented there Haileybury Almaty school and took the 2nd place and won Silver Medal.
