Yesterday Key Stage 1 enjoyed their House Assembly in the warm sunshine of the Quad.
Each of our 4 houses was provided with red, blue, yellow and green chalk to create some “House Art” on the playground. Everybody had fun working with their House friends from across Year 1 and 2.
The children created wonderful lions, bears, dragons and eagles representing their Houses. House activities for KS1 and KS2 are important. They help children begin to think of themselves as part of a wider group/community/team of which they are a part. Of course, these skills are vital when as adults, our pupils take their place in the wider world.
We encourage the pupils to take the “first steps” in a caring and nurturing environment, where taking part and trying your best are always encouraged.
