UNESCO Club

In 2021, students of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme launched a UNESCO Club at Haileybury Astana. Understanding the challenges 2020 has brought us, Sixth Form pupils recognized that it was time to unite, look for hope and find what pupils can achieve together.

UNESCO club allows pupils to learn more about their own culture and share this knowledge with their peers. Together, within this project's framework, students can take care of nature and those who need help and support.

They have an opportunity to take part in charity, creative and educational events. With the UNESCO club, pupils can improve communication skills, discover leaders in themselves and learn to be a conscious part of society.

There are many unique projects ahead that have already been happening around the school.

Let’s begin our journey with UNESCO Club.

The members of the club have achieved the following missions in 2022:⠀
- Held an assembly dedicated to International Day of Peace. The theme this year was ‘End Racism, Build Peace.

- Contributed to International Teachers’ Day by creating posters which were displayed around school, thanking the school’s teachers for the contributions they have made to our education.

- They had also prepared a radio announcement which we played during morning registration. Speaking in three different languages, UNESCO Club thanked the teachers.

- On International Day against Violence and Bullying in School, pupils were allowed to come dressed in blue to show their awareness and support for the cause.
